Whiskey & Wings at Winter Park

Whiskey & Wings at Winter Park

While most resorts in Colorado are throwing their Oktoberfest celebrations, Winter Park is going away from beer and brats and bringing you whiskey and wings. From 2-4 pm on September 9th, Winter Park Resort is hosting its annual Whiskey and Wings  tasting resented by Jack Daniels Fire.

At just $20 in advance and $25 at the door, you get general admission, a whiskey and wings signiture shot glass, and 15 taste tickets! There will be over 25 different Whiskeys and Wings to try and 1 ticket gets you 1 whisky taste, or 1 wing. The Whiskeys there will include some Jack Daniels classics and Colorado locals. The wings will be from resturants from all over Arapaho Valley. This event is all about bragging rights and you get to vote on your favorite wings and whisky.

At less than an hour and a half drive from downtown Denver, this event is a must  for any fan of the delicious duo of wings and whiskey! Winter Park’s first priority is safety, so to keep people from driving they are offering 30% off to those who book a lodging package for the event!

And while you are in the area be sure to check out some other activities that the mountains have to offer, the the talk of the town, the new Via Ferrata “THE IRON WAY” from AVA! Located in Idaho Springs, The Iron Way is the newest way to get your adrealine pumping. On this cliffside tour you will climb high up a rock face, jump off a 50 foot free fall, Zip-line high above the ground, and rappel your way back down to the ground. This experience is leaving people breathless and with memories they’ll never forget. At their Idaho Springs outpost AVA also offers beginner through advanced whitewater rafting and zip-lining. If you are feeling a little more adventureous and willing to drive a little further into the mountains, check out AVA’s Buena Vista locations where along with zip-lining and day rafting trips they have overnight rafting trips and rock climbing. For something a little more family friendly check out AVA’s Kremmling location, where the river is a little more calm and the whole family can enjoy a scenic float down the river. Paddle boards and inflatable kayaks called duckies, are available for rent at that location as well!

Theres nothing better than finishing a long day of rafting/ziplining/climbing adventures with some hot wings and some good whiskey.
