AVA RAFTING
AVA offers whitewater rafting trips on 8 rivers in the Rocky Mountains. AVA has multiple outposts and pick-up locations throughout Central Colorado for your convenience. There are trips for all ages and abilities, from beginner Class II to the most advanced Class V whitewater in Colorado. AVA offers outstanding guest service and professionalism. The priority of their guides is to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable time.
AVA provides wetsuit, splash jackets, helmet, life jacket and paddle included in the price of your rafting trip (on trips run by AVA). AVA has world-Class Rafting, Rock Climbing, Fly-fishing and Hiking available at AVA’s 4-acre main outpost in Buena Vista. Scenic 14,000-foot peaks provide the backdrop to this location. Full day trips include our great chicken fajitas lunch cooked right on the river. For AVA creating custom trips is their specialty. AVA has years of experience working with large groups and have great resources such as The Fun Bus. Tell them what kind of adventure you want to create and they’ll make it happen! AVA’s guides are handpicked and go through one of the longest training programs in Colorado. Photos are also available after your trip. AVA prides itself on recycling and on using sustainable practices. Their goal is to provide low-impact environmental recreation. AVA uses only top-quality equipment. AVA’s Wing and Maravia self-bailing rafts are the performance vehicles for whitewater descents. AVA’s Lotus lifejackets are proclaimed to be the most comfortable type-5 jackets available.

Horseback Riding
Any trip to Colorado’s Rocky Mountains in the summer should involve a horseback riding adventure. Rock Climbing
Are you looking for a great way to challenge your body and to get your blood flowing? Rock climbing is an excellent way to engage just about every muscle in your body and to engage your mind as you plan your way up rock faces. For experienced climbers to first time climbers our experienced guides will be able to take you for an incredible adventure that will leave you smiling from ear-to-ear. See if you can have the fastest time, or choose a challenging route and see how far you get! With the safety of the ropes and your guide you will feel like a gecko as you scale to new heights and challenge yourself.
AVA provides guided, half-day trips for the beginner or intermediate climber. AVA’s guides will teach you the basics of belaying, rappelling and setting anchors. Whether you want to learn more about the sport so you can do it on your own or you just want to try it for the first time and experience the thrill of climbing, our programs are perfect for you. AVA has half-day, morning and afternoon trips available
AVA’s half-day climbing trip is a great way to follow an early morning raft trip down our Class IV or V sections of river. After you have changed into your dry clothes, we set out for our afternoon climbing and rappelling adventure. Or do it the other way around: climb in the morning and raft in the afternoon! It’s a full day of adventure! Climbing takes place only 4 miles north of AVA’s Buena Vista Outpost on granite cliffs overlooking the Arkansas River. A Colorado experience not to be missed.
